Meet the Artist
Patricia paints a wide variety of subjects in pastels and oils. She describes herself as a realist whose favorite subject is children. Inspiration for her landscapes come from many hours of painting on site and her travels with her husband throughout the U.S. and especially the southwest.
Being a self taught artist, Patricia began taking lessons and workshops from artists whose work she enjoyed and has studied under many well known artists.
Her portraits have been described as coming alive before your eyes. Her colors are vibrant. You can relate to her work as she captures the essence of whatever she is painting. One finds themself being transported into her art evoking an emotional response from the viewer.
Patricia’s achievements include the artwork for the covers of Lee Roddy’s family adventures series; books 8 through 13. Mr. Roddy wrote several best selling novels including the Lincoln Conspiracy and Grizzly Adams.
She also has her portraits and artwork hanging in institutions, businesses and homes throughout the U.S, and has won many awards.
Patricia was born in 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, and currently lives in Northville, MI with her husband, Richard. They have a son, daughter, 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Artist Statement
I enjoy every aspect of art. I am excited as each step enfolds until the final process is finished. It is amazing how fast the hours go by and it is not only exhilarating but I find it therapeutic as I am one with the artwork.
